Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

Agreement

Amazing Newsletters is a directory of newsletters run by Southern East Inc., a company based in Ontario, Canada, at 222 Main St E, North Bay, ON P1B 1B1, Canada ("we", "us"). These Terms are a contract between you and Southern East Inc.

Please read them with the Privacy Policy. The sections on your content, service data, and assignment take effect on December 1, 2026. Until that date, the previous Terms still cover those topics.

The service

We provide a directory of newsletters. We are not the publisher of a third-party newsletter listed on the site. We are not responsible for the content of that newsletter, or for a site you open from a link. We may use service providers to run the site. Their own terms apply to the parts they operate, such as a Stripe payment page.

Accounts

You can sign in with Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn. You are responsible for activity on your account.

We may suspend or close an account if you break these Terms, or to stop fraud or abuse. We will tell you when we reasonably can. You can ask us to close your account by emailing support@amazingnewsletters.com.

Third-party websites

The site links to third-party websites. Those links are not under our control. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party website.

Your content

This section takes effect on December 1, 2026. Until then, the previous version still covers this topic. It does not apply to information we already hold unless you agree first.

You own it

"Your Content" means everything you submit, upload, or create in Amazing Newsletters. You keep all your rights in it.

The license you give us

You give Southern East Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, adapt (for formatting and display), and display Your Content. We may do this only to:

  • (a) provide, secure, maintain, and support Amazing Newsletters for you, including showing or sending Your Content where you direct;
  • (b) show content you choose to make public on Amazing Newsletters, and in listings or search results that promote Amazing Newsletters;
  • (c) improve and develop our services, including analyzing how they're used. We do not use your personal information to train AI models. The Privacy Policy is the limit on this point; and
  • (d) create statistics and anonymized information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Limits

We won't sell Your Content. We won't give it to a third party for that party's own purposes, including training the third party's AI models, unless you opt in or tell us to. Our service providers may handle it only to help us run Amazing Newsletters.

How long the license lasts

It ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for: (i) statistics and anonymized information already created; (ii) backup copies, until they're overwritten in our normal backup cycle; (iii) anything you've already shared with others or published; and (iv) anything the law requires us to keep.

Service data

This section takes effect on December 1, 2026. Until then, the previous version still covers this topic. It does not apply to information we already hold unless you agree first.

"Service Data" means: (a) statistics and anonymized information we create as described in our Privacy Policy; and (b) technical and usage information about how Amazing Newsletters performs, such as uptime, errors, and feature usage. Service Data does not include Your Content itself, and it does not identify you or any other person.

We own Service Data. We may use, publish, and license it for any lawful purpose, but only while it stays non-identifying, and only if each recipient agrees in writing not to re-identify anyone, not to combine it with other data to do that, and not to pass it on without the same terms. If Service Data turns out to identify someone, we'll treat it as personal information under our Privacy Policy and fix the problem.

Assignment

This section takes effect on December 1, 2026. Until then, the previous version still covers this topic. It does not apply to information we already hold unless you agree first.

We may assign or transfer these Terms, and our related rights and obligations, including information handled under our Privacy Policy. We may do this to an affiliate, or to a successor in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, insolvency, or sale of all or part of our assets or of the business of Amazing Newsletters. The successor must honour these Terms and our Privacy Policy for the information it receives, unless it gives you notice and gets any consent required under Changes to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We'll tell you within 30 days after such a transfer. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Southern East Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data, that result from your use of Amazing Newsletters.

If we are liable, our total liability for a claim is limited to the greater of 100 Canadian dollars or the amount you paid us for Amazing Newsletters in the 12 months before the claim.

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them. That includes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, where a law does not let us limit it. Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that a law says we cannot remove.

We are not a party to disputes between users, or between you and a third-party newsletter. This does not take away a claim you have against us where the law does not allow that.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply here. Courts in Ontario may hear a dispute, except where a consumer law says you may bring a claim in your home province or country.

Changes to these Terms

What counts as material

A change is material if a reasonable user would consider it significant. For example, it reduces your rights or our obligations, raises fees, changes how we use or share your data, changes dispute resolution or governing law, or takes away a paid feature.

Notice

We'll give at least 30 days' notice of a material change, by email and with a notice on Amazing Newsletters. The notice will summarize the change and link to the old and new versions.

Your data

A change that expands how we use or share data applies to data we collected before the change only if you expressly agree.

Your options

If you don't agree, you can stop using Amazing Newsletters and close your account before the change takes effect. If you prepaid us for a listing or sponsorship that has not started, email us and we will refund that unused prepayment.

Other changes

Non-material changes take effect when we post them. Except as the "Your data" paragraph says, using Amazing Newsletters after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

History. Past versions include the previous Terms. If the law requires a change sooner, we'll give as much notice as we can.
